A WOMAN who is fighting cancer donated cash to children suffering from the same plight.

Carol Delafuente, 55, raised £4,500 for Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund in Romford, at a fundraising dinner last month.

The charity bash took place at Ingatestone Hall where Carol is catering manager and housekeeper for owners Lord and Lady Petre.

Carol used to live in White Hart Lane, Collier Row, before moving to live on site at Ingatestone Hall.

She was diagnosed with cancer Christmas Eve 2009, which spurred her to raise money for a charity supporting other sufferers.

She invited friends and family from far corners of the world to a dinner party who donated cash to the cause and entered a raffle.

She said “without a doubt” it meant even more to her knowing the funds she raised would be helping save children’s lives from the same disease she was fighting.
