The owner of a small Romford business was invited to 10 Downing Street to discuss new ideas on how the government can help small businesses grow.

Jimmy McLoughlin, business advisor to Theresa May chaired the meeting for small business owners from around the UK to discuss new ideas on how to help small businesses grow on Thursday, June 10.

Aaron Henriques from Romford owns Handlr, a company that offers help subscription packages for phone call and live chat answering services.

At the meeting it was suggested that there needs to be more education for small business owners.

Aaron said: “Through our own market research, we discovered that 43per cent of small businesses don’t answer their own sales phone line.

“It’s a huge problem and shows that many small businesses are overstretched and need help to scale.”

Handlr was founded to help small businesses grow by helping them to maximise their sales by ensuring they never miss business leads.

“It was a great opportunity to discuss ways to help small businesses and Jimmy McLoughlin was incredibly receptive to our ideas,” Aaron added.

“It’s good to know the government really are aiming to support startups and small businesses, especially with Brexit just around the corner.”
