Police were called to the Albion pub in Rainham Road at around 7 last night (Monday, April 2) after two males believed to be travellers were fighting.

The pub manager called police and was concerned that it could turn into a bigger fight as they said there were around 40-50 travellers at the pub.

Police said that the manager then told them that the fight had died down, however they wanted the group to leave the pub and stopped service whilst they left.

Patrol cars and vans were called to the incident and the travellers left the scene as a result.

A spokesman for the Albion said: “We aim to run a safe and welcoming pub and our priority at all times is the safety of our customers.

“There was an incident outside the pub yesterday involving a group who had already left but there was no damage caused and none of our other customers were involved.”
