A 21-year-old Rainham man who drove at nearly twice the legal drink-drive limit must pay £415, a court ordered.

Mitchel Coleman, of Bader Way, is also banned from driving for 16 months.

Coleman committed the offence in Northdown Road, Hornchurch, on June 30. He was breathalysed and found to have 69 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 ml of his breath.

The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Barkingside Magistrates fined him £300 on July 26, and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

He can reduce his driving ban by four months if he completes an approved course.
