Rainham industrial estate fire

A blaze which had to be put out by about 70 firefighters and officers broke out at an industrial estate on Friday night.

Firefighters were called to an estate in Orwell Close, Rainham, where the fire badly damaged a range of single storey industrial buildings, including units used for glass manufacturing.

The blaze was attended to by 10 fire engines and firefighters from Romford, Hornchurch, Dagenham, Ilford, Barking, East Ham, Wennington and Harold Hill.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
