Sporty families mounted their bikes for a ride in support of a youth club.
Children as young as six-years-old rode about six miles through Rainham to raise nearly £1,000 in support of the Royals Youth Club, Viking Way, Rainham.
The bike ride, which was organised by the youth club and the London Riverside BID, started at the Barges Car Park, Coldharbour Lane, and families cycled to the RSPB nature reserve, where they shared a picnic before cycling back to their starting point.
Havering mayor Cllr Philippa Crowder opened the event and cheered the cyclists along the way.
Security guard Kane White, from the private company Security Projects Ltd, which sponsored the bike ride, cycled a unicycle all the way to the RSPB reserve.
Debbie Moore, of London Riverside BID, said: “It was a fantastic day. The kids really enjoyed themselves. I participated last year and enjoyed it so much, I thought I would do it again this year.”
The Royals Youth Club was established as a voluntary organisation in 1993, in response to concerns from Rainham Village residents about the lack of provision for young people.
