Commuters on the Liverpool Street to Shenfield service suffered disruption and delays on their journeys into work this morning.
It is not clear what caused the delay, many trains were forced to go slow amid reports.
There were reports, as yet unconfirmed, of a fire on a train at Forest Gate station. Train drivers warned commuters of major delays.
