Suspected drugs were found hidden in the hood of an extractor fan at a flat in Hornchurch.

Officers confiscated cannabis, pills and white powder during the raid on a home in Tilia Court, Berther Road.

Sgt Virna Brooks, of Emerson Park Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said: “We will continue to tackle drug misuse and abuse in our community. The occupant of this premises was suspected of dealing drugs and we take this crime very seriously. We do need the public to let us know of any suspicions they may have of crime in their local area.”

A 27-year-old man was arrested and has been bailed to return to Romford police station in May pending the result of a forensic examination of the substances found at the address.
