It was an unforgettable day for two-year-old Brooke Steward who presented the Queen with a pillow that she had decorated with a little help from her grandmother, Jenny, 48.
Jenny, of Swindon Lane, said: “We’ve been looking forward to this for weeks because the school told us she was coming so we knew and we started planning.
“I went to see Princess Anne years ago but this is the first time I’ve been this close to royalty.
“My granddad, William Steward, was a member of the King’s Own Cavalry, under her father. He was one of the men who stood around the coffin when it lay in waiting.”
