A public inquiry into controversial plans to dump “inert” waste and double the size of Rainham’s Ingrebourne Hill is due to start today.
Protesters are expected to gather in front of Havering Town Hall today at 9.30am to oppose the plans, which were first submitted four years ago.
The public inquiry was called by an independent planning inspector earlier this year, when applicant Ingrebourne Valley Ltd appealed Havering Council’s decision to reject the planning application in 2014.
The inquiry will consider the proposal to merge Ingrebourne Hill with Hornchurch Country Park, using construction material by re-designing the landscape of the green belt.
