Victoria Road, Saturday, August 27. kick-off 3pm

Dagenham & Redbridge boss John Still has hinted midfielder Peter Gain may be in line for a first team return when Torquay United visit Victoria Road on Saturday.

Gain is yet to feature this season after undergoing a hernia operation in the summer, but has recently returned to full training.

And after coming through a reserve team game in midweek, Still confirmed he has a chance of being involved against The Gulls.

Still said: “He had a reserve team game on Tuesday. We’ll see how he is on Saturday. He could possibly be on the bench.”

However, there appears to be no sign of Daggers injury problems easing, with Medy Elito the latest addition to the treatment table.

Elito will miss Saturday’s match along with Rob Edmans (leg), Josh Scott (knee), Kevin Maher (foot), Billy Bingham (knee) and Phil Walsh (toe).

Better news sees Richard Rose and Femi Ilesanmi ready to feature, while Damian Scannell could be on the bench following his 20-minute cameo in the 1-0 win at Bradford.

Meanwhile Torquay boss Martin Ling may hand a debut to striker Billy Bodin, who has joined the club on loan until January.

Bodin started for parent club Swindon Town in their 1-0 defeat against Daggers 10 days ago.
