Library visitors in Upminster learnt how to avoid becoming victims of crime at a police stall earlier this month.

PCSO Wupundu Simpungwe and PCSO Julie Wade told residents about scams and bogus callers operating in and around Upminster, and gave out leaflets and advice.

PCSO Wade said: “Engaging with the community is always a good use of our time. I hope the information we provided during this initiative will contribute to reducing the number of people falling victim to scammers in Havering.

“If we work together we can put the fraudsters out of business.”

People also spoke to officers about antisocial behaviour during the day.

If your quality of life is being affected by antisocial behaviour, contact your SNT or call the police by dialling 101.
