Man arrested after guns seized from Hornchurch home by National Crime Agency’s Organised Crime Unit

A 69-year-old man has been arrested after a cache of guns was discovered at a Hornchurch home last week.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed armed officers from Trident, the capital’s gangs unit, working in conjunction with the National Crime Agency’s South West Regional Organised Crime Unit Disruption Team, executed a warrant under section 46 of the Firearms Act 1968 at an address in Coltishall Road, Hornchurch on Tuesday, November 20..

A number of firearms and ammunition was found at the property, and seized.

On Wednesday, November 21, a 69-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.

He was subsequently bailed to a date in mid-December.

Enquiries continue.
