Police are appealing for information after an assaulted allegedly took place in a kebab shop.

London Ambulance Services were called to Alma Avenue, Hornchurch, on December 14 at 12.21am after there were reports of a man in his 50s being assaulted.

The offence is said to have taken place in the Charcoal Grill kebab shop in Station Lane, Hornchurch, just after midnight.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of GBH but has since been bailed until next month.

Det Con Emma Hammatt of Havering CID said:

“We are appealing for information from anyone that was near the Charcoal Grill, Station Lane between 11pm and midnight on Saturday 13th December.

“There were a large number of people in the area at the time of this incident, in particular a coach that was parked directly outside the venue. We are appealing for any information in relation to this assault.”

Anyone with information or witnesses are asked to call Romford CID on 01708 779216, the police non-emergency line on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
