Police are appealing for information about two robbers stole a van at knifepoint in Brentwood.

The men approached a van driver in Ashford Avenue on October 9, at about 2.45pm while he was making deliveries.

One of the men made threats to the driver, showed him a knife and then drove off in the white Ford Transit Van.

The van contained the driver’s mobile phone, a Sat Nav and the parcels he was delivering.

The van driver, from Chelmsford, was shaken, but not injured. The van was found the following day in Milton Road, Warley.

The robbers are described as aged in their 20 to 30s, white, one was wearing a brown woolly hat, a brown t-shirt and jeans and the other was described as having untidy ginger hair and wearing jeans and a grey t-shirt.

DC Matt Wigg, who is investigating, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who was in Ashford Avenue around the relevant time and remembers seeing these men, hanging around, or witnessed the robbery.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the area investigation team at Ongar on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
