Jet, a retired racing greyhound is pictured here taking a well deserved rest after a busy time at Crufts.

The gentle-natured pooch, aged six, from Upminster, won a “very highly commended” prize for her class.

When she is not busy showing off in front of the cameras, Jet works as a registered therapy dog with Canine Concern.

“Jet visits various different places including care homes, schools and projects in the area for adults and children,” said owner, Pia Van Praagh.

“She is trained to provide affection and comfort to people and is signed off by her vet to say that she has the correct temperament to carry out her role.

“Due to a greyhounds calm laid back nature they are perfect for the job. It gives people the opportunity to have their spirits lifted.

“Her best friend is another retired racing greyhound called Lurch age seven who lives with her.

“She enjoys running and playing, sleeping and going on walks.

“She loves treats and her favourites are sausages and chicken. Jet is a very happy hound and particularly nosey to make sure she’s not missing out on anything.”
