Abdu Hemmaida, of Horace Avenue, Rush Green, will be buried tomorrow after he was pronounced dead at the station at around 4.30pm last Thursday.

His family have been inundated by flowers and tributes to the former student of Bower Park Academy, in Havering Road, Collier Row.

Mother Samia Bushra, 50, said: “The sad thing is he helped anyone who was feeling low but couldn’t help himself.

“So many people have paid tribute saying how much he helped them. He was having a difficult time and it all got too much for him.

“He just didn’t realise how many people cared for him.”

Abdu, whose full name is Abdelrahman, would never leave home without his jewellery but did so on the day he died. He also settled up his debts with his local newsagents.

He was a very “unselfish” man and removed his valuables so that someone else can make use of them, his mother said.

The family said that personal trainer who worked at Virgin Active, in Clements Road, Ilford, was going through a rough patch and was finding it hard to deal with childhood traumas.

Brother Islam, 23, did not expect Abdu’s death and had thought that he was dealing with his demons. “He improved so much in the last year,” he said.

Sister Sarah, 25, who lives in Edinburgh, said that he was a friendly person who spoke to everyone. “Everyone loved him,” she said.

Friends contacted the Recorder was with tributes and social media was awash with friends paying homage to Abdu.

Former team mate at Gidea Park Rangers football club Sam Wheatland, 21, of Stanley Avenue, Gidea Park, said that Abdu “was one of the nicest people you would ever meet”.

And family friend Gaynor Lethbridge, of Dagenham, said: “He was a lovely boy always had a cheeky smile and so much to live for.”

Abdu will be laid to rest at the Gardens of Peace, in Elmbridge Road, Hainault, at 3pm.
