A man from Romford is “painting the town red” after he was named the best painter and decorator in the UK.

Georgie Baker, who runs Bakers Property Maintenance, nailed a tradesman competition held by viral social media site On The Tools.

The handyman, who is also a Dulux Select Decorator, was nominated by his peers and voted for by the public.

His adward was presented to him by comedian Justin Moorhouse at a ceremony at Edgbaston Cricket Club, Birmingham.

Georgie said: “This is brilliant for me and my business, being able to say I’m the painter and decorator of the year will make a big difference to my customers.

“I have a huge passion for decorating and like to contribute to the industry where I can, so to get this recognition in return is fantastic.”

On The Tools, which features funny content, videos and fails from building sites all over the country, is a massive hit with tradespeople with more than 2.5million social media followers and one billion video views.
