“If you look at a photo and it makes you feel happy or it reminds you of something then it has done its job” says Graham Caile from the North Romford Camera Club.

You can judge for yourself if these photographs have the same effect on you.

They are just some of the camera club’s entries to this year’s East Anglian digital photographic competition.

The annual competition sees Havering’s budding photographers going up against other cameramen and women in East Anglia.

The entries include an image of seagulls mating, a snow scene and Graham’s photograph of

a woman looking at a seaside hut.

He said: “It was part of a project on London’s Southbank last year about British seasides.

“That hut stood out to me because it was so colourful and then a woman over to have a look at it.

“She was wearing a really colourful dress and I thought that it made a really nice photograph.”

The club is due to celebrate its 50 anniversary later this year with its annual photographic competition.

Graham said: “There are quite a few camera clubs around the area, but we think ours is unique because we also do a lot of social events.”
