Ryman Premier Division

Hornchurch v Met Police

Urchins look to have arrested their recent mini-slump after recording back-to-back 3-0 wins over Horsham and Margate this week.

Martin Tuohy, Lewis Smith and Leon McKenzie — with his first goal for the club — were on target in Sussex on Saturday.

And Tuohy netted twice more, either side of Smith’s 19th goal of the season, at Bridge Avenue in midweek to take his own tally this term to an impressive 27.

Tuohy and Jo Flack were on target as Urchins won 2-0 at Met Police back in early September.

And Jimmy McFarlane’s men will hope to complete a double on home turf as they look to keep the pressure on table-topping Billericay ahead of their Bank Holiday Monday showdown.

But Police are still in the play-off hunt themselves, lying six points off the top five with two games in hand on Hendon.

Ryman Division 1N

Romford v Waltham Abbey

Kurt Smith and Jack Barry were the men on the mark again as Boro recorded back-to-back league wins for the first time this season.

The duo had netted in a 2-1 home win over high-flying Harlow and struck again in a 2-1 success at Soham last Saturday.

Paul Martin’s men are closing in on their points target and will be looking to complete a double over Abbey, following a nine-goal thriller at Capershotts earlier this season.

Boro raced into a 4-0 lead inside 30 minutes, with Wale Odedoyin, Abs Seymour, Nick Reynolds and Barry all hitting the back of the net.

Abbey replied with a brace before the break, but Barry’s second goal of the night made it 5-2 on 71 minutes.

The home side struck twice in quick succession in the closing stages in a tense finale, but Boro held on during four minutes of injury time for a 5-4 triumph.
