Urchins visit fierce rivals

Ryman Premier

Concord Rangers v Hornchurch

Lewis Smith’s double got Urchins back on track with a 2-0 midweek win over Harrow.

And Jimmy McFarlane’s men will be determined to pick up something from their fierce rivals as they aim to keep their play-off hopes alive.

Smith was also on target, along with Frankie Curley, when Hornchurch beat Rangers 2-0 at Bridge Avenue in early November in a match which saw Tambeson Eyong controversially sent off for two harsh bookings.

Concord lie just a point off the top five, while Urchins are five points further back, in 11th place but with two games in hand.

Redbridge v Romford

A last-minute goal denied Boro victory at play-off rivals Enfield Town in midweek.

Jack Barry had given them the lead at Brisdown, only for the hosts to snatch a point late on.

But Romford are set to benefit more than most from the expulsion of Leyton, having been held to a goalless draw by the struggling club at Mill Field in August.

Leyton lost to most of the other play-off hopefuls, meaning Boro should gain two points on their rivals when the table is officially updated.

Paul Martin’s men took all three points from a 3-1 win against Redbridge, thanks to goals from Paul Kavanagh (penalty), Joe Pearman and Kurt Smith, and will be hoping to complete a quickfire double over the Motormen to strengthen their drive for the top five.
