Tough tests for rivals

Ryman Premier Division

Hornchurch v Bury

Urchins ended a three-game winless streak with a 2-1 success over Margate in midweek.

Lewis Smith netted the late winner and manager Jimmy McFarlane is hoping his side - with Rickie Hayles set to return to the squad after injury - are now over their recent blip.

They face a tough test against second-placed Bury, but should be encouraged by the fact they won 3-1 in Suffolk as they look to close the gap on the play-off places.

Urchins are currently sitting in eighth place, but are only three points behind Kingstonian, with two games in hand.

And they face a trip to leaders Sutton on Tuesday....

Ryman Division 1N Romford v Ware

Boro boss Paul Martin refuses to panic, despite four successive defeats.

Martin has seen his side concede 10 goals in their last four outings, but bolstered his attacking options by bringing Petrit Elbi back to the club.

The visit of Ware - and Redbridge on Tuesday - could not come at a better time for Boro as both find themselves nearer the bottom of the table.

With Julian Dicks’ Grays and title-chasing East Thurrock up next on the Boro agenda, Martin will be secretly hoping these next two games prove happy hunting for his men.
