There will be no trains running between Romford and Upminster until at least 1.15pm this afternoon (Tuesday, July 31), after a train broke down near Emerson Park station.

It is believed the train reported technical issues at around 9.15am this morning, and engineers now believe the problem will not be resolved for a number of hours.

National Rail have confirmed passengers may use their tickets on London Buses and London Underground services on any reasonable route until such time as the lines is up and running again.

National Rail will be giving regular updates on the incident on Twitter using #EmersonPark.
