This is the aftermath of the blaze that gutted an Upminster tool hire shop earlier today.

The picture, posted by the London Fire Brigade on Twitter, shows the destroyed insides of Hares Hire in Upminster Road, Upminster.

One person was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation, but a LFB spokesman said there were no serious injuries.

Roads were closed and buses were put on a diversion as fire crews dealt with the fire.

Amazingly, the fire was just three shops away from a florists that was ruined when a lorry ploughed into the front of it in October.

London Fire Brigade tweeted about the unfortunate coincidence, asking if Upminster Road was the “unluckiest road ever?”
