AN INTERACTIVE room designed to stimulate youngsters emotionally and physically was unveiled at a school yesterday.
A brand new multi sensory room was officially opened at Clockhouse Primary School in Clockhouse Lane, Collier Row on Tuesday January 4.
The School’s headteacher Hafise Nazif said: “It is a really important space for any children who are experiencing any difficulties or those who just need a break.”
The youngsters were able to see their room for the first time and to start using it for quiet time or just for a break.
Work on transforming the empty room started a couple of months ago and the finishing touches were laid to the room before the Christmas holiday.
The sensory room, which costs 9,000 from the school funds boasts a water bubble tube machine ,calming lights, glitter balls and soothing music.
Hafise said: “The kids really loved going into the room for the first time this week and they really value a space where they can go when they need a break.
“It is just like going into a space where you do not think about anything else.
“When your in there the only thing that is important is that moment in time.”
