A leading UK home builder has launched the final phase of apartments and penthouses in a parkland setting, as figures suggest the new Elizabeth Line is making Harold Wood more attractive for first-time buyers.

Countryside has revealed Elizabeth Gate and Sapphire Gate as the newest phase of apartments in Kings Park, which is located a short walk away from the Harold Wood tube station.

According to the latest research from GVA, the UK’s independent commercial property agency, the Elizabeth Line with lead to a £20.1 billion total increase in property values within one kilometre of a station by 2026.

David Everett, managing director of Countryside new homes and communities central region said: “The Elizabeth Line will be a fantastic addition to the local area, giving commuters an easy, direct route to several London stations.

“The perfect placement of Kings Park and the availability of Help to Buy means that our residents are able to get themselves on the property ladder and make a fantastic investment whilst doing so.”

Harold Wood station will soon be on the Elizabeth Line in 2019, which will see journey times to key London locations reduced by up to 19 minutes.

According to a study by Hamptons International, Harold Wood is the number one area in London for first time buyer hotspots.

Of all the homes sold in Harold Wood last year, 74per cent went to buyers who paid £219,310 for a home on average - which is about half the average spend of a first time buyer in London.

However, the influence of Crossrail launching later this year, may have also influenced the fact that property prices have grown by 12pc over the last two years.

All of Countryside’s homes come equipped with integrated appliances and flooring, enabling buyers to move in right away.

In addition to good rail links, Kings Park has easy access to the A12, A127 and M25 for fast connections into and around Kent, and Essex, and to the M11 for travel to Hertfordshire and Cambridge.
