Multi-million pound redevelopment work begins at Romford Greyhound Stadium

Multi-million pound redevelopment works at Romford Greyhound Stadium have began and are expected to be completed by Christmas.
It was announced last month that Ladbrokes Coral Group would be making a major investment into the stadium, and that the renovation works would ultimately bring a new look stadium to Romford by the end of 2018.
A spokesman from Ladbrokes Coral confirmed to the Recorder that work had began this week and they are hoping work will be completed for Christmas and New Year racing.
Works will include a complete renovation of the Millennium Stand, a new restaurant, the demolition of the Main Stand to create over 100 car parking spaces and a modernisation of the reception area and office building.
The steward’s box will also be relocated to be situated in the refurbished stand roof, and the finishing line will be re-positioned in front of the refurbished Millennium Stand.
The Main Stand will be demolished and converted into space for 130 cars, plus wheelchair parking.
There will also be further demolition of the tote building and scoreboards.
Included in the redevelopment will also be new facilities for hosting parties and corporate events.
