Students had a special visit from a famous mountaineer.

Jo Gambi, who holds the world record for the fastest female ascent of the Seven Summits - the highest mountain summit on each of the seven continents, stopped off at Redden Court School in Cotswold Road, Harold Wood.

Headteacher Paul Ward said: “Jo gave a marvellous talk about her record breaking achievemennts.

“We aim for the sky at Redden Court and to have someone who’s climbed to the top of the world come to our school to inspire our students was fantastic.”

Jo is the second British woman to have climbed Everest’s North Ridge and the first woman to have skied to both the North and South Poles.

She spent the time talking to the students about how determination and hardwork can bring outstanding achievements.
