A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a car crash with an ambulance in Romford.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) to reports of a car crash in London Road, near the junction with St Andrew’s Road on Tuesday, November 13 at 11.50pm.

They found a car in collision with an ambulance.

An ambulance driver and a passenger were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A LAS spokeswoman said: “We sent three incident response officers and two ambulance crews to the scene.

“We treated three people and a baby at the scene and took them all to hospital.”

A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and dangerous driving.

He has been taken to an east London police station where he remains in custody.

Enquiries are ongoing.
