A drain cover.

A drain cover.

A man who allegedly had sex with a drain cover has been remanded into hospital care for mental health assessments.

Florin Grosu, 33, of Yew Tree Gardens, Romford, appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court today, charged with indecent exposure, outraging public decency and criminal damage.

The charges relate to an incident that took place on January 17.

Mr Grosu’s barrister asked for a six-week adjournment for mental health assessments to be carried out.

But this was not met with enthusiasm by Mr Grosu who said, through an interpreter, that he did not want the case to be adjourned preferring for it to proceed straight to trial.

Mr Grosu, who pleaded not guilty at a preliminary hearing last month, is next due to appear at Snaresbrook on April 17.
