Man who allegedly attacked another with hammer in Collier Row appears in court

A man appeared in court on Monday charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.

Police were called at around 7.05pm on Wednesday last week, to reports of a man attacked with a hammer in Turpin Avenue. Collier Row.

A 37-year-old man was found suffering from head and hand injuries and taken to hospital for treatment.

His injuries are not life-threatening.

Robert Spicer, 29, appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court after being arrested in Cornwall on Friday.

He has been remanded into custody and will appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on May 22.
