Two fire engines attended a house fire at an address in Park Lane, Hornchurch on Wednesday evening and a man was rushed to hopistal where he was treated for smoke inhalation

A man was rushed to hospital for smoke inhalation after firefighters were called at a flat in Hornchurch on Wednesday evening.

Firefighters were called at 19.08pm at an address in Park Lane, Hornchurch, and two engines and around ten fighters from Hornchurch and Romford attended the scene.

Firefighters had to enter the block of flats with a breathing apparatus and a man was rushed to hospital by ambulance.

The fire affected a flat in the ground floor, which was partly damaged by the fire.

The fire was under control at 20.05pm and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
