A “lucky” man was rescued after becoming impaled on park railings through the top of his arm last night.
The 23-year-old got stuck trying to climb into Central Park in Petersfield Avenue, Harold Hill at about midnight.
He was freed by fire rescue units and paramedics who cut the metal, and was taken to hospital with part of the railings still in his arm.
A firefighter told the Recorder: “He was lucky he didn’t fall and it didn’t rip all the skin off his arm.
“It was near his bicep, and close to the brachial artery. He was sedated when we got there.”
Two engines from Harold Hill and Dagenham attended as well as a fire rescue unit from East Ham.
