A man has been charged with murder after a 61-year-old collapsed on a street in March.

Richard Laurent, 46, of no fixed abode, was charged yesterday (Tuesday) with the murder of 61-year-old Derek Bailey.

Mr Bailey was found in Maple Street, Romford, at 6.40am on March 17 by a member of the public.

He was taken to Queen’s Hospital, in Rom Valley Way, by ambulance but died at 8.40am.

Laurent will appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
