Man arrested in connection with stabbing 25-year-old in Romford

A man has been arrested after a 25-year-old man was stabbed in Romford.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) to reports of a man suffering a stab injury on Fontayne Avenue at 4.45pm yesterday (April 11).

The victim was taken to an east London hospital for treatment.

His condition is not life-threatening.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and has been taken to an east London police station where he remains in custody.

An LAS spokesman said: “We were called at 4.42pm yesterday to Fontayne Avenue, Romford, to reports of an incident.

“We sent an incident response officer, two single responders in cars and an ambulance crew.

“We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance by helicopter.

“We treated a person at the scene and took them to hospital by road as a priority.”
