A man has been arrested following reports that two men were entering a car in Collier Row with firearms.

Police officers were called to Collier Row road around 1.50pm today (Tuesday, October 9) to reports that two men were acting suspiciously in Collier Row.

A police spokeswoman said: “Officers and armed officers attended and pursued the car.

“They signalled for the vehicle to stop and subsequently detained three men.

“One man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving offences and handling stolen goods.”

The car was searched and an imitation firearm, believed to be a BB weapon, was found.

No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.
