A 41-year-old man was stabbed in Upminster in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called to St Laurence Church, in Corbets Tey Road, just after midnight following reports of an assault.

The man, suffering from two stab wounds, was taken to an east London hospital but has since discharged himself.

No arrests have been made, but Havering police are continuing to make enquiries.
