A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital with a suspected neck injury after his car was in collision with another vehicle in Romford on Wednesday.

The man was the only casualty in the crash, which took place at about 3.30pm on London Road close to the Romford Greyhound Stadium.

He became trapped and fire crews from Romford and East Ham had to cut the roof off his silver Toyota to get him out. An ambulance crew treated him for back pain and he was taken as a priority to Queen’s Hospital.

Firefighters at the scene said the man had a suspected neck injury.
