JUNCTION 28 of the M25 (anticlockwise) was closed this morning after a collision between an HGV and a van which left a man trapped in his vehicle.
The interchange was shut after the incident which happened at 6.45am, and cars were diverted via the Brook Street roundabout, Brentwood.
Firefighters had to cut a man, who was trapped by his injuries, free from the van.
A spokesman for the East of England ambulance service said that a 50-year-old was treated at the scene for a back injury, and was then taken to Princess Alexandra hospital in Harlow.
Lanes two and three of the junction were reopened just before 8am and lane one was reopened at 8.15.
