Maylands Golf Club

Maylands Golf Club ran an online competition where you could a free wedding by sharing a Facebook post.

One lucky couple won a free wedding at a Romford golf club after taking part in their Facebook competition.

Claire Forster and Daniel Brown were “delighted” when they found out that they had won the top prize from Maylands Golf Club in Colchester Road.

It was the first time in a few years that the club had ran a competition like this, and more than 50 brides took part.

In order to be in the running for the prize you had to share a post on Facebook and tag four friends.

Daniel and Claire were picked at random, and will now have a completely free wedding at the club - including food, drinks and venue hire.

Clare Daflon, administrator at Maylands said: “We haven’t ran the competition in a while but it is a great way of giving back, and trying to remind people that we do weddings at the club.

“Claire and Daniel were delighted, and couldn’t believe it when they had won.

“I think it was the first wedding venue they had looked at so it was even luckier for them.”

The winner was announced at the clubs wedding open evening last Wednesday (October 24).
