Residents who live close to the pub haven’t been able to open their windows because the smell is so bad.
Rubbish left by travellers at a Harold Hill pub still hasn’t been removed two months after they left.
Landowners of the pub on the corner of Edenhall Road, Bridgwater Road and Hilldene Avenue said that they had started clearing the site in June, however there is still rubble and human waste left at the site.
The landowners also brought in 24-hour security to stop the travellers returning - and it is now believed that the landowners have asked the security company to clear the site which could take up to another four weeks.
Councillor Keith Darvill said: “We need to be quicker in producing enforcement steps.
“And some of these steps that are taking place will hopefully be beneficial in the future.
“Land owners have got to co-operate with the coucil and the police.”
Harold Hill resident Dave Curtis, 45, told the Recorder: “It is disgusting.
“I was told that all the bio-waste had been removed from the site and that it was just rubble left but I have been down to the site and there is still human waste, and meat and all sorts of rubbish down there.
“Residents who live close by haven’t been opening their windows because of the smell and the hot weather has made the smell even worse.
“It’s shocking - it would only take one day with a JCB to clear the site.”
