Cllr Ramsey defeated Independent Residents’ Group leader, Cllr Jeff Tucker by 44 votes to 5 to become leader, and said it was an “honour and a privilege.”
The cabinet was also announced during the one-hour meeting, though portfolios have not yet been designated. Cllrs Meg Davis, Wendy Brice-Thompson, Melvin Wallace, Robert Benham, Osman Dervish and Damian White will all take the roles.
