Havering residents are invited to be part of a community event which looks at how working together can prevent crime.

Representatives from emergency, public and voluntary services will be attending the Safer Neighbourhood Community event in Romford Market on Saturday, September 29 from 10am to 3pm.

Councillor Viddy Persaud, cabinet member for public protection and safety, said: “This event and that of the work of our Safer Neighbourhood Board is to look at ways in which we can all work together with residents, volunteers and the community as a whole, to have a safe borough to live, work and go to school in.

“We also want people from outside the borough to come and visit us, enjoy what Havering has to offer, feel safe and want to visit again.

“By encouraging residents and representatives from different groups and areas of the borough, we can get a clear picture of how we can help each other and as result have a safe borough.”
