Councillors voted 28 to 15 in favour of the East Havering Resident’s Group councillor to take over the reins from Conservative Cllr Linda Trew.
He said: “I am delighted to have been given the honour of being named as the mayor of our borough for the second time and hopefully I will once again be supported by the people of Havering.”
