Community groups and individuals in Brentwood only have a few more days to get their bids in for a council scheme.

Submissions for the second round of the Brentwood Community Fund, which recognises projects which improve residents’ quality of life, must be received by Friday.

Grants of up to £3,500 are up for grabs, with the total amount of money handed out to be £50,300.

The bids will then be considered at the community services committee meeting on January 8.

Cllr Jan Pound, chair of the committee, said: “This is a great opportunity for local groups, organisations and individuals to get the help they need with their projects.

“It is also a chance to provide something beneficial for the residents of Brentwood.”

Submissions must be designed to benefit Brentwood’s communities and be delivered within the borough.

They will be accepted from individuals, community and voluntary organisations and residents’ associations.

Previous applicants can apply if their idea is for a new project, but people who have not received any funding before will be prioritised.

To apply, download a form from Then either email it to or post it to the town hall, Ingrave Road, with the label Brentwood Community Fund on it.
