Only Fools And Horses’ fans queued to meet their idol when John Challis stopped off at the Liberty shopping Centre.

John, who played Boycie in the BBC comedy sitcom greeted shoppers at his book signing in Waterstones in Romford on Saturday September 29.

Kimberley Levard, Waterstones Manager, said: “John has been fantastic he had a great rapport with his fans and made time for each individual.

The atmosphere in store was very exciting. Book signings are always a nice addition to the centre as it gives people the opportunity to meet their idols.”

John, who has recently written his new book called Boycie and Beyond took time to take photos with his fans.

When the crowds chanted for him to say his catchphrase, he laughed and accommodated them by standing up from his chair and saying ‘Mar-Leeeene’.

Emma Sanders from Rainham, who queued up to meet John said: “I have always been a fan of John Challis’s character Boycie, and the comedy Only Fools and Horses.

“John was great when I met him, he was so friendly”.
