An Italian market will be coming to Upminster for the first time this weekend.

Italia in Piazza will include a number of mouth-watering stalls bringing tastes from Italy, including parmigiano reggiano, prosciutto, salame, olives and extra virgin olive oils.

And visitors can enjoy a host of Italian themed entertainment, street performers, crafts, including designing a Venetian carnival mask and face painting.

Havering Adult College will also host an Italian quiz with a chance to win an Italian food hamper.

It will be on Sunday in Corbets Tey Road, from 10am to 4pm.

Cllr Robert Benham, cabinet member for community empowerment, said: “The Italian food market is always popular wherever it goes, so I’m really pleased that the residents of Upminster finally get to experience it in their home town.

“I hope people come along and enjoy the experience.”
