Nathan Cooper and Jed Chouman agree to remain at Bridge Avenue after successful 2016/17 season

Two more players have agreed terms to remain at Hornchurch for the 2017/18 Isthmian League North campaign.

Nathan Cooper and Jed Chouman have put pen to paper to extend their stay at the Bridge Avenue club.

Former Romford defender Cooper played 45 games last season and was a rock at the back when fit.

Chouman made more appearances for Urchins than anybody else during the 2016/17 campaign, as he represented Hornchurch 49 times.

The pair will no doubt play important roles for Jimmy McFarlane again, as the club look to win promotion back to the Isthmian League Premier Division next season.

Abs Thompson won’t be part of Hornchurch’s push for the title, however, after moving to Redbridge.

Ex-Urchins midfielder Joey May has recently taken over as joint-manager of the Essex Senior League club.

And May’s first signing since his appointment at the Motormen is to bring in flying winger Thompson.

Thompson scored five times and picked up 12 assists last season during his 46 appearances for Urchins.

A statement on the Hornchurch website read: “Good luck Abs in your future endeavours.”

This news follows hot on the heels of Sam Mott and Kenzer Lee agreeing to stay at Urchins next season, with McFarlane also signing Theo Fairweather-Johnson from Phoenix Sports.
