Inspirational Romford headteacher praises children and staff for positive Ofsted rating

Children and staff of a school are ending the year on a high note after it was highly praised following an Ofsted inspection.
Inspector Ruth Dollner visited Rise Park Infant and Junior School, Annan Way, Romford, in May, and rated it as “good” in every area of provision.
In her report, she called executive headteacher Carolyn Fox a motivating leader.
“[Ms Fox provides] inspirational leadership,” she said.
“The staff, pupils and local community trust her and have faith in her abilities to raise standards in the school.

“As one parent put it, ‘this is a great school. Our children love it and so do we. The head is brilliant’.”
The reported also pointed out that teachers and pupils have created a friendly, welcoming community.

“Even the youngest children in the school are happy and confident to welcome visitors,” continued the inspector.
“They talk with pride about their learning. The climate and culture for learning in the school are strong because they
are underpinned by caring, trusting relationships between staff and pupils.”
In 2014, the infant school formed a multi-academy trust and became the sponsor school for the junior school which had been rated as “inadequate” by inspectors in 2013.
During the inspection of the junior school it was noted that since forming the academy Ms Fox and her team had “markedly improved” the quality of education provided.
“The whole Rise Park team are delighted with these inspection outcomes,” said Ms Fox.
“Since becoming a multi academy trust in September 2014 both schools have worked tirelessly to further improve outcomes for all of our pupils in order to ensure that they can access an educational offer which is of consistently high quality.
“We can now drive forward to create two schools which provide an outstanding standard of education for all.”
Ms Fox added that the schools were the only ones in the local authority to achieve a successful condition improvement fund bid for £150,000.
This money, another achievement teachers are proud of, will go towards the replacement of new school boilers.
