Romford boss angry after defeat

Romford manager Paul Martin was fuming after his side’s 3-0 defeat against Tilbury.

Boro slipped to ninth in the Ryman One North table after their Mill Field reverse and Martin wants a response for the visit of Harlow tomorrow.

He said: “We didn’t turn up. Tilbury played better against us than Wingate and Enfield Town to be honest, but we were very below par.

“I’m not happy with the boys and I will make sure I make changes to turn it around.

“One of the wheels has fallen off and I’ve got to try and repair it.”

Tilbury took the lead through Harry Cook after only two minutes and were gifted a second when Ben Turner netted an own goal just before half-time.

Jack Barry was sent off for two bookable offences before Steve Good rubbed salt into the wounds with Tilbury’s third goal three minutes from time to leave Boro with only two wins in their last 10 outings.

Martin added: “We came out of the traps slow, but should’ve dealt with the cross for the first goal better.

“You put 11 players out there, but when they cross the white line, there’s nothing you can do. It was unacceptable.”
